Clear expectations, before and after install.

This page explains how Focuslock works, what users should expect from a live session, and the product limits of the current release. It is intended for both end users and App Review.

How to use Focuslock

  • Choose a preset duration or select a custom session length.
  • Enter a short intention for the work session.
  • Tap Begin to start the timer.
  • Stay in the app during the session for the best score.

What counts as a break

In the current implementation, a break is counted when the app transitions away from the active foreground state during a live session. That includes backgrounding the app or making it inactive.

What gets saved after a session

Focuslock stores the session label, duration, interruption count, score, completion timestamp, and whether the session was completed or ended early. Completed sessions may also update the current streak.

What users can customize

Users can add, remove, and reorder duration presets in settings. The history screen shows saved sessions along with streak and average score information.

Where the data lives

The current release stores product data on the device. It does not require an account and does not implement server-side session sync. Deleting the app removes locally stored data from the device.

What this version does not include

  • No account login or password recovery flow.
  • No cloud backup of sessions inside the app itself.
  • No social sharing or collaboration features.
  • No cross-device sync in the current implementation.
